Pershore Swimming Club took time out from their busy competitive schedule and training to raise money for Acorns Children’s Hospice.  60 swimmers from the club took part in the two-hour charity swimming event at Pershore Leisure Centre which saw them competing in a variety of challenging relay races against their team mates.  Pershore raised £720 for Acorns Children’s Hospice.

Mandie Fitzgerald, community fundraising officer for Acorns Children's Hospice, commented:  "The majority of the £2.5m needed to run Acorns for the Three Counties comes from voluntary donations and fundraising so events like this are vital to us being able to continue providing services to local life limited and life threatened children and their families.  On behalf of everyone at Acorns, I’d like to say a huge thank you to Pershore Swimming Club for their support.”

Steve Vizard, Pershore Swimming Club’s chairman, added:  "We chose Acorns Children’s Hospice because it is close to a lot of people's hearts.  It's also great for the children at the club to do something to help other children who are not as fortunate as they are.”
