PERSHORE MEDAL AT TOP MIDLANDS MEET!

Pershore Swimming Club sent a nine-strong team to compete in the City of Birmingham Open Meet over the Easter weekend. Competing against some top clubs in the Midlands including Birmingham, Coventry and Boldmere, Pershore produced some excellent times and results, winning 1 gold, 2 silvers and 3 bronze medals.

Patrick Heeks (11) was the lone boy swimming for Pershore and he continued his recent fantastic form with a silver medal in the 100m fly (1.16.36) and a bronze medal in the 200m back (2.36.67) – his backstroke time gave Heeks another Midland Qualifying Time (MQT).   Heeks also swam pbs in 400m free (5.08.62), 100m IM (1.20.24), 100m breaststroke (1.38.83), 100m back (1.15.89), 100m free (1.08.04), 200m IM (2.45.39) and clocked (45.98) for 50m breaststroke.

Hannah Simister produced some powerful swims and reached the finals of both the 200m free and 100m breast. She won a bronze medal in both with 2.29.42 (PB) in the 200m free and 1.28.14 in the 100m breaststroke.  She also clocked 39.10 for 50m fly.

Lauren Annis (10) was another swimmer to collect medals.  She won a gold medal in 100m breaststroke 1.49.16 (PB) and a silver medal in 100m back (1.32.31 pb).  She also produced good swims in 200m free (3.00.73), 50m fly (43.28) and 100m IM (1.35.32).

Suzanne Capewell was a debutant swimmer for Pershore and produced some great new pb’s in 100m breaststroke (2.07.03), 50m back (50.22), 200m breaststroke (4.29.39), 100m free (1.40.30) and completed her swims with 100m IM (1.50.55).

Alex Barry (11) again produced some strong swims in the 400m IM (5.51.45) and a massive 90 sec PB in the 800m free (10.34.25).

Other Pershore swimmers who all produced good times and pb’s over the weekend were:-

Macey French (11) – 200m free (2.40.23), 100m back (1.23.05), 100m IM (1.25.95), 100m breaststroke (1.44.72), 100m fly (1.25.70), 50m back (39.21) and 100m free (1.12.86).

Isobel Cumming (12) – 800m free (11.06.07), 200m free (2.36.18), 50m fly (36.64), 100m back (1.22.85), 100m IM (1.26.13), 100m breaststroke (1.43.51) and 200m fly (3.09.60.

Naomi Marsden (12) – 200m free (2.34.88), 50m fly (35.45), 100m back (1.14.75), 100m IM (1.21.21) and 100m breaststroke (1.32.93).

Megan Annis (11) – 200m free (2.32.40), 50m fly (34.91), 100m back (1.15.18), 100m IM (1.19.58) and 100m breaststroke (1.29.53).
