Pershore Swimming Club sent a 13-strong team to compete at the Level 2 Gloucester Open Meet, coming away with a respectable 6 gold, 10 silver and 7 bronze medals.  This meet attracts top swimmers from National and District levels around the country from as far as Devon and Cornwall as well as top clubs from the Midlands area.

Megan Annis (11) won six medals over the weekend.  Annis produced great swims to win gold medals in 100m fly (1.19.46) and 200m breaststroke (3.11.55).  She also produced solid swims to secure silver medals in 100m back (1.14.01), 50m fly (34.22) and 50m free (30.74) plus collected a bronze in the 400m IM (6.05.53) and produced a good swim in the 200m free (2.29.69).

Alex Barry (11) and Beth Carter (15) were also among the medals.  Barry continued her good recent form with gold in 200m back (2.39.56) and silver medals in 200m IM (2.44.74) and 400m free (5.06.89).  She also produced a good swim in 50m breast (43.52). Breaststroke specialist, Carter, won gold in her strongest events – getting onto the podium in 100m breaststroke (1.22.62) and bronze medals in 200m breaststroke (3.00.93) and 50m breaststroke (38.31).  Carter also produced massive pb in the 50m backstroke (43.52).

Olivia Howard (11) produced some strong swims during the weekend, with 100m back (1.23.95), 50m fly (37.90) and 50m free (33.74). Caitlin Yates (11) was also in good from with 50m breast (43.18), 200m IM (3.07.09) and 100m breaststroke (1.36.73).

Macey French (11) put together a solid programme, clocking 200m Breaststroke (3.33.55), 200m free (2.36.64), 50m fly (37.76), 50m free (33.68), 200m backstroke (2.57.88), 50m backstroke (39.39) and 100m free (1.12.43).

Gabriella Barry (9) and Lauren Annis (10) were both in fine form;   Barry produced 200m backstroke (3.22.97), 200m IM (3.34.73) and 50m backstroke (46.98); Annis clocked 200m breaststroke (3.46.72), 200m free (2.56.94), 100m backstroke (1.28.20), 50m fly (43.39) and 50 free (34.66).

Promising talent, David Annis (9), swimming in his first competitive Open, produced some great swims and bagged his first medals.  Annis collected silver medals in 200m backstroke (3.17.31) and 400 free (6.09.24) and bronze medals in 200m IM (3.20.44) and 50 back (43.55).  He produced a good pb in 50m breaststroke (53.39).

Patrick Heeks (11) continued his great from with five medals and more importantly another MQT.  Heeks won gold in 200m backstroke (2.38.36) and 200m IM (2.41.55), another MQT.  Silver medals came in 400m free (5.12.81) and 100m free (1.06.59) and a bronze medal in 50m back (35.61).  He also produced good swims in 50m breaststroke (43.78) and 100m breaststroke (1.38.04).

Luke Perry (12) came away with a silver and bronze medal for his efforts.  He came second in the 50m backstroke (35.28) and third in the 200m backstroke (2.42.93), and Perry also solid swims in 50m breaststroke (40.39), 400m free (5.12.06), 100m free (1.08.50) and 100m breaststroke (1.30.05).

Ronan Williams (11) and Cameron Leach swam well during the weekend, Williams clocking up 200m backstroke (3.01.79), 200m IM (3.13.94), 50m backstroke (39.77) and 100m free (1.15.22); and Leach 200m IM (3.15.72), 50m backstroke (42.04) and 100m free (1.17.85).
