Gold medal haul for Pershore S. C. Pair

TWO talented students from Pershore Swimming Club have showered themselves in glory at the ISA National Swimming Championships in Coventry. Harry Sykes, aged 11 competed in three events, 50m individual breastroke, 200m medley and freestyle relays. He won each of the events to bring back three gold medals.

Tazmin Pugh, still aged nine but swimming in the Year 5 age group, competed in two events รน the individual 50m backstroke for which she achieved a national record and the gold medal as well as the freestyle relay which she also won. Tazmin was also awarded with the Midlands most outstanding swimmer award for her age group.   Harry and Tazmin had won their places to represent the Midlands ISA at the National Champs when they competed for Bowbrook House School at the Midlands Champs a week earlier at Walsall Baths.

Bowbrook House School's head of PE, Richard Mills, said: "We could not be more proud of these two prolific performers. "They have clearly worked extremely hard for this event and have done so well to bring back five gold medals and a trophy between them."   PHOTO
