4 PSC swimmers competed at the first weekend of the Midlands District Championships.

Tazmin, Harry Joseph and Tyler  participated in 8 events.Tazmin has set very high standards over the last year but sadly her first swim was in a disappointing 200 freestyle. However showing her true ability and potential Tazmin came back later to win 100 backstroke in a time that was only 0.5 outside of the National Qualifying time. Tazmin ended the day by swimming in the 200 butterfly a gruelling event where Tazmin finished the event in 2.58.05. A mixed day with an excellent 100 backstoke and the title of  Girls11yrs Midland Backstroke Champion. Well done Dibble!!

Tyler had one event on the day and he swam the 100m breaststroke. Tyler swam this event looking very comfortable and won it with ease. Tyler now has the title of Boys 10yrs Midland 100m Breaststroke Champion. Well done Teacake!!

Harry was the third swimmer to compete. Harry swam in the Worcester medly relay team.. Against more experienced boys teams WSC team going into the relay ranked 10th swam extremely well to finish 5th overall. Harry swam 100 breaststroke against tough opposition and did not let himself down .Well done Harry!!

It would have been difficult to carry on with the excellent medal winning performances of the Saturday.

Swimming his first MQ  race Jose was against tough opponents but swam a reasonable time for an event which is not his strongest. Going out in a very fast time Gooner found the end of the swim a little  tough but as expected he gave a gutsy performance. Well done Gooner!

Tyler had a disappointing 100 backstroke,by his own high standards ,i am sure Tyler will be disappointed, however he will have a chance to  rectify the swim next week when he swims the same stroke at a longer distance.

Tazmin finished the second day with the very difficult 400im,  it was good to see an improvement in the breaststroke and a time that was a personal best.

Congratulations to Evesham swimmer Harry B who is having an excellent championship ,including a silver medal in  100backstroke and to Lucy Worcs. who in finishing 2nd in the 11yr girls breaststroke achieved a NQT. Well done both!

Next weekend sees Tazmin,Tyler Joseph and Alison taking part in the second part of the championships.

Good luck to you all

Tom
