Head Coaches report

Our first gala after being promoted and we could not have picked more difficult opponents. In footballing terms it was "the group of death".

How proud I was of our swimmers.  With six swimmers not available and some of the age groups down to the bare bones I was slightly apprehensive.

I had absolutely no reason to be - Pershore swimmers enjoy the challenge.  There were 50 pbs, 8 first places which including first place's for 9 year old Simon Sweatman's breaststroke, Josh Sharratt's backstroke and the 9 year boys freestyle relay team.  What a great start for those new swimmers !!

A big thanks to Tyler and Tazmin who bore the brunt of the extra swims, only one near mishap when we had one of them at the wrong end, but they really did give everything for the team achieving four of the first place positions.  Well done.

With the remainder of the team putting in good performances we finished 3rd behind very talented Hereford and Kingsbury teams.  It was great to see our swimmers competing with them.

The slight negative were the 6 disqualifications that we had however we now have a few weeks to sort a couple of things before the next round that will hopefully reduce the number of dqs.

Having spoken to a number of parents, I think all who attended enjoyed an excellent evening.  Everyone will be looking forward to the next gala where the swimmers will be even better - and hopefully the parents will be even louder.
