Pershore girls on their way to a National Schools Championships.

Two local girls from Pershore Swimming Club were recently put forward from their school of Kings Hawford in Worcester to the IAPS (Independent Association of Private Schools) Midlands Swimming Championships at Kings School, Warwick. Mr Turner their Head Teacher knew they had been swimming well from regular links with their club in Pershore and decided some of his pupils should to take part in the championships for the second year runninghaving not previously taken part and entered Isabella Woodcock (yr 5) and Naomi Marsden (yr 6) rising starlets of their club in Pershore

The Midland's Championships is a prelude to the National Championships where the sixteen fastest girls from around the country compete for the National medals. The school's faith in Bella and Naomi was duly rewarded with them both coming 1st in their age groups with Bella recording a new 25m Breaststroke personal best (pb) in 20.18 secs, and Naomi another pb in the 50m Backstroke in 38.48.

Both Bella and Naomi were so proud to have been rewarded for their hard training as are both their school and swimming club with two fine performances and are now waiting to be invited to the National Championships in London in March, where Bella hopes to build on her bronze medal won last year whilst still yr 4 and swimming in the older age group marking her first appearance in competition, suffice to say the omens look good for more success.
