Pershore Swimmers in Worcester Races.

When five Pershore Swimming Club members were invited to compete in the first two sessions of five at the Worcester Swimming Club Champs they figured high up in the results.

For the boys Harry Sykes swam in the 200 Breaststroke and finishing 1st in the 11 year old division with a new personal best (pb) of 3:39.69. In the 200 IM again a new pb ended in the same result of 1st place with 3:19.56, this was repeated in the 100 Back 1st with 1:34.60 and 200 Free 1st with 3.02.34.

Joseph Doyle improved massively on his best times with 1:42.44 in the 100 Back and 3:20.29 in the 200 Free finishing 2nd in the 10 year division on both occasions.

Alison Seward competing as a 10 year old finished 2nd in all but one of her events and Tazmin Pugh still in the 9 year division finished 1st in all her races and in fact was top in the 10 year division as well in all but one.

Pugh recorded pb's in three events with 3:28.47 in the 200 fly, 1:32.76 in the 100 fly enjoying an exciting finish with Worcester's new girl 10 year old Francesca Daniels joining from Bromsgrove who pipped her by just under a second in the last few strokes, and 1:28.37 in the 100 back. In the 200 breast a time of 3:37.98 was recorded with 3:13.94 for the 200 IM, and finally 2:55.78 for the 200 free where continued friendly rivalry left Pershore's Pugh the victor this time pushing Daniels into 2nd place by a fingertip finish of just 0.12 sec.

Seward recorded 1:49.61 in the 100 fly, 3:36.19 in the 200 IM, a superb pb of 1:31.82 in the 100 back, and again a magnificent new pb of 3:11.92 in the 200 free where she was just pipped to the post by Worcester swimmer Esme Weston, the closest of the night being just one hundredth of a second Weston recording 3:11.91.
