Pershore Swimmers exchange achievement trophy.

Club Chairman Mr Steve Vizard supervised the change over of Pershore Swimming Club's monthly achievement trophy to October's high achiever twelve year old Charlotte Bradley from Fladbury whose ever smiling enthusiasm in training sessions has been a role model for fellow club members. The previous recipient was fourteen year old Angus Jones who has been showing exceptional improvement in his personal best times (pb) over recent months. The club's new logo was also on show. Thanks go to Allen Gears of Pershore sponsoring a whole pack of stop watches for their club championships.

In a recent session of the Worcester S.C. club champs swimming as visitors Angus Jones set a new 66 seconds pb of 10.52.41 coming 3rd in his age group for the 800m event whilst another 3rd was recorded by 13 yr old Lizzie Vizard coming home in 11.25.85. In the 11yr old age group Tazmin Pugh set a stunning new 31 secs pb of 9.58.61 unofficially the fastest time for an 11 yr girl in the UK. In fact only sixteen girls in the UK in the 11 year age group (end of year rankings) have ever gone quicker from some four and half million short course records over the last fourteen years.

Also recording an Open Meet victory in Coventry was thirteen year old Harry Sykes in the 100m breast recording a new long course personal best (pb) of 1:23.40, whilst twelve year old Alison Seward recorded a pb in another event at the Worcester Club Champs being 1:24.19 in the 100m Individual Medley.   PHOTO
