Two young swimmers from Pershore Swimming Club travelled to Sheffield to compete in The Robin Hood Open Meet at Ponds Forge International Pool. This was a Level 1 50m long course meet, the highest ranking event type, attracting elite competitors from all over England and as far as Scotland and Wales.

Simon Sweatman (11) and William Gearey (10) both performed well against strong age-group opposition รป both grabbing podiums.

Sweatman came away with two silvers and two bronze medals. In the boys 11 year old 50m freestyle, Sweatman was just edged into second place in a time of 29.98 seconds, and he also took silver in the 200m freestyle with a strong performance of 2.27.51. Sweatman also took bronze in the boys 11 year old 100m backstroke in 1.19.17 and another bronze in the 200m IM in 2.48.96.

Gearey came third in the boys 10 year old 50m freestyle in 33.09 seconds and also grabbed bronze medal in the 50m breast stroke in 47.41 seconds.
