Pershore Swimming Club will be sending a record number of swimmers to next the 2014 Worcester County Championships held at Wolverhampton in March.

28 swimmers have achieved at least one County Qualifying Time, with individuals competing in 190 individual events.

Pershore will be looking to build on the club’s success at last year’s County Championships which saw Simon Sweatman (11) win multiple age group titles and Isabella Woodcock (11) and Naomi Marsden (11) dominant in breaststroke and backstroke respectively. It will be the first time at the County Championships for several swimmers including Jasmine Franks, Roan Williams, Lauren Annis, Tamara Marsden, Alexandra Barry, Jasmine Hoskins, Olivia Howard and Daisy Tolley,

Pershore swimmers who have achieved one or more CQTs are as follows:-

William Gearey (16* events), Simon Sweatman (16), Charlotte Downey (14), Patrick Heeks (13), Megan Annis (13), Naomi Marsden (12), Chris Vizard (11), Hannah Woodcock (10), Isobel Cumming (9), Macey French (9), Jamie Saunders (8), Jasmine Franks (8), Harry Sykes (7), Angus Jones (5), Cameron Leach (5), Isabella Woodcock (5), Jasmine Taite (4), Amy Weston (4), Owen Leeks (3), Josh Sharratt (3), Roan Williams (3), Lauren Annis (3), Tamara Marsden (3), Alexandra Barry (2), Helen Annis (1), Jasmine Hoskins (1), Olivia Howard (1) and Daisy Tolley (1).

Commenting ahead of the Championships, head coach Tom Naughton said:  "We’ve had a fantastic 12 months as a club and it shows the progress we are making having so many swimmers competing at this year’s championship. This is a record number of entries for Pershore which is fantastic new and look forward to delivering a record haul of medals!”
