Pugh takes another County title.

Following on from her success the previous week in the County Championships 800m freestyle event Tazmin Pugh of Pershore Swimming Club was in the water again in the 1,500m freestyle.  Pugh completed the distance over 60 lengths in 20min 09.50 which proved too quick for the opposition and so meant she became county age group champion in her first two events.

With the 1,500 event for women being removed from the Olympics this is likely the last time it may be staged in the County Championships so Pugh was especially pleased to have given herself the opportunity to race over this being the longest distance competed for indoors.

Both her 800m and 1,500m times were the 2nd quickest ever swum by an 11 year old in the Hereford and Worcester County Championships.  Better still the 800m left Pugh 2nd in the UK end of year rankings whilst the 1,500m finds her in 3rd place.

Pugh will be competing in another fourteen events over two weekends in March at the remainder of the County Championships with another nine members of Pershore Swimming Club swimming in total 77 events with Harry Sykes and Tyler McLean having qualified for 12 events each, Joseph Doyle in 9 and Drew Jones  8 events.   Jack Betteridge, Lizzie Vizard, Alison Seward, Ashley Gribble and Callum Sanderson will also be competing
