Pershore make Waves.

When sixteen members of Pershore Swimming Club recently travelled to Wolverhampton Central Baths they made big waves for the small club.

The purpose of the meet was the Annual County Development Sprint Gala and with 30 personal bests (pb) being achieved it proved a great success. The young star of the meet was 9 year old Joseph Doyle who took the County title in the 100m Individual Medley (IM) with a new pb of 1min 44.22. Joseph in fact set two other pb's with 56.25 in the 50 breaststroke and 49.68 in the 50m butterfly.

Also joining Joseph on the podium was 10 year old Alison Seward winning the bronze medal in the 50m fly with her new excellent pb of 43.03 to go with her pb in the 100m IM of 1:32.63. Of the other six Pershore girls competing Elizabeth Vizard made the greatest improvement with her four pb's of 43.00 in her 50m freestyle; 49.87 in the 50m back; 56.65 in the 50m breast and 1:50.08 in the 100m IM.

A time of 51.18 for Laura Snape in the 50m breast and 48.57 for Ella Spencer in the 50m back completed a good day for the girls.

With fourteen pb's from the girls the boys needed to prove a point and they duly delivered with sixteen pb's.
