Pershore's Swimmers in Action Again.

 

 

In an exciting Inter-Club friendly gala well organised by Redditch Swim Club some of Pershore Swimming Club's young rookies were given their first chance of competition and "àthey passed with flying coloursà"  were the words from Head Coach Tom Naughton.

 

The club got off to a great start as has become the norm with wins in their Individual events by ten year old Tazmin Pugh in the 10yrs and under 50m Free (31.80) and 11yrs and under 50m Fly (35.80) and 10yrs and under 50m Back (37.91).  This was followed by ten year old Tyler Mclean in the 10 & under 50m Breaststroke (42.88) and twelve year old Harry Sykes in the 12 & under 50m Breaststroke (38.88) and 50m Free (30.89).

 

There were also Individual 2nd places from Drew Jones(10) in the 50m Free and Breast with Joseph Doyle (11) and Mclean in the 50m Back, together with Amy Weston (9) in the 9yr 25 Back and Josh Sharratt (8) in the 9 yrs 25 Back, with Ella Spencer (11) and Michael Evans (11) also swimming new personal bests (pbs) in their 11yrs and under 50m Free with 35.28 and 34.75 respectively.

 

In the team relay events Pershore were victorious in the 11yr boys 4 x 1 Medley comprising Doyle, Jones, Evans and Adam Palin himself swimming a pb with 18.66 for the Fly leg. The 11yrs & under boys followed this with a 2nd place in the 4 x 1 Free made up of Evans, Doyle, Jake Spencer (pb 16.61) and Ben Clarke (pb 18.59) and 10yr and under Boys 4 x 1 Free with Ben Doyle recording a pb of 22.73.  There were 3rd placed finishes for the 11yrs and 10 yrs and under Girls in their Medley races, the 8 x 1 Boys Free and 9yrs Boys4 x 1 Medley with Chris Vizard swimming a pb with 22.73.

 

Hannah Simister swam to pbs in the team event of her 9yr & under 4 x 1 Freestyle relay with 21.11 and also in her Individual 1 length Breaststroke with 25.31, whilst Susie Fowler recorded 19.41 in her leg of the 10 & girls 4 x 1 Free relay.   Katie and Josh Sharratt brother and sister both swam pbs in the 12yr & under Free 34.94 and 1 length Fly 21.33 respectively coming in 4th and 3rd.   Whilst coming in 4th in the 12 & under Fly Palin finished with a pb in 42.66.   Lily Weston set a pb in her leg of the 12 yrs & under 4 x 1 Free with 16.11.

 

In the girls 10 yr and under Medley Jasmine Taite swam a first Backstroke leg with a pb of 22.39 whilst further pbs in the same event came from Louise Hird  (Breaststroke 29.19) and the final Free style leg by Amy Weston with 18.97.

 

Pershore finished in an impressive 3rd place with 191 pts behind Stourbridge and Redditch clubs.
